Smart Shopping Tours is the fusion of east and west, with two old friends turning a passion for shopping and travelling to China in search of bargains and beautiful and unique products, into a full time business venture. Having done this for their own businesses, friends and relatives
for a number of years, they decided to share their experiences and discoveries with the world!

Henley, born in Beijing with a career in journalism and the arts teamed up with his friend Maria, a Sydney girl. The two became friends in TAFE whilst studying for their real estate licenses and made their first trip to China to source building products and materials for Maria's husband Michael, a Sydney property developer.

Whilst working on various developments in Sydney, Henley suggested that they take a trip to China to source building materials and furniture for Maria's husband Michael who is a Sydney Property Developer.

In 1999 they made their first trip to China to source products for Michael's developments and never looked back! They were amazed at the quality, variety and very well priced products over in China. Sick of paying really high Sydney prices, they brought over their first container which was a huge success. From there the idea grew. Before they knew it they were bringing in more products, not just for Michael's ventures, but friends and relatives were also placing their orders and sharing in the savings.

Last year the two friends decided to turn their passion for shopping in China into a full time business and share their discoveries with the rest of the world.

Now they have set up these professional shopping tours to introduce the amazing savings to other people, whether they be private shoppers, builders, developers home renovators or savvy shoppers who just love a bargain. Many of their clients are bringing over goods and selling them at auctions, garage sales and even markets. The possibilities and opportunities are endless.

Henley originally from China himself has used both his local knowledge and extensive network of connections there to set up the company. Maria coordinates the groups and liaises with customers at home and on the tour to ensure that they get exactly what they are looking for. It's all about satisfying our buyers needs. Their dedicated teams in China and Sydney ensure that products are packaged safely for transport and to ensure safe delivery of goods.
